I am a registered nurse of 25 years. I completed my training in Palmerston North and upon graduating worked in the emergency medicine field. I developed an interest in paediatric nursing while there and moved to Auckland where I worked at Starship Children’s Hospital. I continued in paediatrics working in Rotorua Hospital and then over in Edmonton, Canada at the Stollery Children’s Hospital.
When we moved back to NZ I went into the private sector working as a practice nurse in a large clinic in Rotorua. While there I developed an interest in dermatology and also wanted to pursue my interest in Aesthetic Medicine which took me to Tauranga, working at a large private dermatology and cosmetic clinic. During my 12 years working here I was lucky enough to work with very skilled dermatologists and plastic surgeons. During my time at this clinic I was involved in skin cancer clinics, assisted in surgery both for skin cancer and plastic surgery and ran Appearance Medicine clinics. This gave me a fantastic understanding in skin and aesthetic medicine which is invaluable in my role today as a cosmetic medicine nurse.
I am absolutely passionate about aesthetics and the positive impact it can have on peoples confidence. My ethos is that of very natural treatments which helps to make you look refreshed rather than “changes your face”. It is very important to me that treatments enhance your appearance and boost your confidence and that you feel comfortable and relaxed when you are in my clinic. I take my role very seriously and am constantly keeping up with my education to keep you up to date with the latest treatments and most importantly to keep you safe.
Appearance medicine is my absolute passion and I can’t imagine doing anything else.
